Actual ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Reviews on Amazon:

– A very good story, an enthralling plot with a surprise turn at the ending.

– The story is drawn on a larger than life canvas. And it emerges out to be a fantastic reading.

– The book is charged with impeccable dialogues in all its 31 chapters, very easy to read and definitely enjoyable! Thinking of getting it to my cousin for Christmas!

– Lior Couriel’s “The Milk Moon Assassin” is a gripping journey… A little bit of John le Carre seen through the eyes of Henry David Thoreau. A remarkable book. Enjoy the journey.

– Character development and plot twists are prominent in this well written book.

– This author took me in from the first chapter. The character development, description of places, thoughts and feelings were brilliant and the story was excellent.

– Lior has a wonderful ability to tell a story, an incredible linguistic wealth and a unique writing style. He sails elegantly between periods of time, combines reality and imagination in a reliable way, and maintains the tension so that you have to keep reading.

– ooo this kept me on my toes.. it was creepy.. and interesting.. and odd in some ways.. haha.. it was very well written.. very good!

– What initially got me was the amazing cover!

– In a way the plot of 'The Milk Moon Assasin', L.A. Couriel's masterpiece, reminded me a lot of one of MC Esher's 'Impossible Figures'. Indeed, the twists and turns, interdependencies and intrigues are at time so complex that it takes a while to get your head around them. But once you do, you're left with an incredibly feeling of accomplishment and resolve, at least in my experience.

– I loved the book. Could not put it of my hands. I was attracted by the complicated plot. It was a puzzle I wanted to solve.

Editorial Reviews

"A far-reaching epic novel extending across life stages and continents. Its pages capture a latently fascinating experience written in a rich and pleasant language…
Lior Couriel weaves a story filled with old secrets that unravel gradually, exposing along the way the twistedness of the human soul with all its ramifications, be they destructive or generous, hostile or splendid…
Lior Couriel has a strong understanding of the hearts of his characters, which he shapes expertly and with astonishingly shrewd insight. His love of the language and command of the intricacies of writing are evident in every line. His writing ranges from rhythmic prose to beautiful lyrical patterns. His descriptions of the landscape are pure and touching love poems." – Simona Bat, Editor and Literary Critic

"We are accompanied by ancient archetypes both in literature and in real life. Matters are made sharply discernible in Lior Couriel's novel… ancient myths swarm over a land whose depths are a boiling pressure cooker threatening to erupt any moment, and send everyone into a whirlpool of irreconcilable conflict… the characters live aware of the axis of time, struggling over past, present and future memories…
…Readers remain riveted the whole time as they follow the action, and must spin the threads in order to discover how all the events are connected to the opening scene of the book, an unusually dramatic one…" – Balfour Hakak, Poet, Chairman of the Hebrew Writers Association

"Lior Couriel has written a novel that combines different popular literary genres: historical novel, thriller, and by no means less, local-human drama. This is a book written in a flowing easy-to-read style… readers are exposed to a historical event… presented from a fresh perspective also thanks to the current suspense story propelling the plot forward. Moreover, the most interesting angle in Couriel's novel belongs to the place, the sites, the map of the reality in which the plot unfolds. In other words:the landscape. An Israeli novel about a place's boundaries and connections overtime, as mysterious as it is captivating…" – Yoram Meltzer, Writer and Translator, Recipient of the Prime Minister's Award
"This is a night of intrigue, revenge, and retaliation, a night of remembrance and disclosures… multiple plot lines, a significant amount of local history and Israeli landscapes. Insights on the Jewish-Arab conflict and matters of masculine brotherhood and rivalry, love and violence…
…In the pages of the book there is plenty of space for all this and much more with an abundant of poetic language that is both refined and original, as well as realistic psychological precision in the characters and situations…
…Lior Couriel, an architect by profession, has planned the perfect structure for his book, the ebb and flow between periods of time and the gradual revelation… He jumps straight into the pool of the greatest: into a sophisticated, rich, and long novel. He jumps but doesn't drown." – Tsur Ehrlich, Poet, Critic, and Editor of Makor Rishon Newspaper

"A fascinating encounter with an original and suspenseful story with multiple plots and surprising twists, hard to put down from the moment one dives into it. But much beyond that… it is an encounter with a unique voice that is his alone… There are plenty of good stories, but unique voices, who know how to tell them, are hard to come by…
What is truly rare–much more so than a good story–is a suitable narrator, who has been blessed with proper breathing, a sense of the language and the understanding of the workings of the pace in which a story unfolds, who knows how to take local history… the exceptional scarred characters… and lift off with them on the wings of imagination, soaring towards new places.
…This is a novel of men at whose center the characters live in a tough, violent, competitive world. Theirs is a world of burning instincts, but also of loneliness that gives them no rest…
In his first book Lior Couriel already reveals himself as a true writer, and his work is worthy of a page on the stage of highly regarded literature…"

"I just finished reading this fascinating book, which I was unable to put down. I was afraid of what would happen when I finished reading. I would have to bid farewell to the characters forever. I felt they had entered my life, they were so strong and powerful… and yet, there is a feeling of something having been rectified, and that's a great virtue. I haven't got the faintest idea how Lior Couriel managed to create such characters and build for them such lives…"
